De student heeft de 4 assumpties onderzocht.

Bij de eerste assumptie (random drawings) heeft ze gekeken naar de run sequence, maar om de autocorrelatie na te gaan is het duidelijk als we gaan kijken naar de lag plot, deze geeft weer wat het verband is tussen het heden en het verleden. Bij de eerste lag plot kunnen we zien dat de lijn bijna horizontaal loopt en de punten gespreid rond de rechte liggen, dit wijst op een correlatie die bijna gelijk is aan 0 (als we de vorige industriële productie kennen dan kunnen we geen uitspraak doen over de volgende).
Bij de tweede lag plot zien we een kromme. Als we een rechte tekenen dan sluiten de punten veel meer aan = positieve seizonale correlatie.
De student heeft de lags ingesteld op 12, dit is goed, maar als we de laatste grafiek (autocorrelatiefunctie) gaan bekijken dan is het duidelijker als we de lags op 36 instellen, dan zien we dezelfde uitschieters telkens terug komen => http://www.freestatistics.org/blog/index.php?v=date/2008/Nov/03/t1225704644khnpa68etqwnzm4.htm

Assumptie 2: Er wordt gekeken naar het histogram en density plot, dit is correct. De student merkt een kleine afwijking op als er naar de density plot wordt gekeken, maar dit is eigenlijk niet erg uitgesproken dus er is geen reden om aan te nemen dat er geen normale verdeling is.
We kijken ook naar de Q-Q plot, de punten liggen vrij dicht op de lijn, vanonder wijken de punten een beetje af (net zoals we dit konden zien bij het histogram en density plot), dit is niet zo erg.

Assumptie 3: De student kijkt hiervoor naar de Q-Q plot maar we kunnen beter naar de run sequence kijken, we vragen ons af of het niveau constant gaat blijven, we zien een achteruitgang dus we kunnen vermoeden dat het niveau op lange termijn niet constant blijft maar het is moeilijk om te zien.

Assumptie 4: Hiervoor heeft ze het aantal lags aangepast, maar eigenlijk gaan we voor deze assumptie kijken naar de run sequence en daar gaan we naar de spreiding van de reeks kijken over de tijd heen. Dan zien we dat de spreiding van het eerste deel groter is dan het tweede deel. Door de tijd is er een verandering van schommelingsmarges.

Het model is dus niet geldig, de student heeft geen conclusie geformuleerd.
