Evaluatie task 2:

De bespreking is niet slecht, maar er is toch nog iets belangrijks vergeten. Het is inderdaad zo dat de mediaan van investeringen gevoelig lager ligt dan deze van de andere variabelen, maar om te onderzoeken of de investeringen de grootste terugval hadden sinds maart 2001 moeten we bijkomend de mediaan van investeringen relateren aan 100, dus vergelijken met het basisjaar. We zien dat de investeringen inderdaad de grootste achteruitgang vertonen met het basisjaar (100), waardoor we kunnen concluderen dat de hypothese inderdaad klopt. Bijkomend zou er ook vermeld kunnen worden dat de kledingproductie ook achteruit is gegaan, maar dat deze achteruitgang bij investeringen veel sterker is. De totale productie daarentegen is lichtjes gestegen. De student vermeldt ook dat de inkepingen van de notched boxplots elkaar niet overlappen, zodat er sprake is van een significante daling van investeringen. Eventueel zou er in de bespreking nog vermeld kunnen worden dat de spreiding van de notched boxplots in dit geval geen rol speelt.

Ik ben het eens met Jasmine dat de student had mogen benadrukken dat het hier een index betreft. De student had de upper en lower bound erbij kunnen nemen om zeker te zijn dat de inkepingen elkaar niet overlappen. Het is inderdaad duidelijk te zien op de grafiek dat ze niet overlappen maar op de tabel met de upper en lower bound kan je dat nog duidelijker zien.

Je kan duidelijk zien op de plot dat er geen overlappende etrouwbaarheidsintervallen zijn wat wijst op significanite. Je zou inderdaad, zoals jasmine zei, de upper en lower bound kunnen nagaan.
