Ook hier werden de waarden voor de populatievariantie, het steekproefgemiddelde, en de nul hypothese door de student verkeerd ingegeven. Het decimaalteken staat telkens op de verkeerde plaats.
Doen we dit op de juiste manier, dan vinden we een p-waarde van 41%, de kans dat u zich vergist indien u de hypothese verwerpt is dus gelijk aan 41%. De hypothese verwerpen wilt in dit geval zeggen dat we de klacht gerechtvaardigd vinden, en dat we onze advocaat contacteren om de klacht in te dienen. Als u een klacht indient hebt u dus 41% kans dat u zich vergist. Dit is een te groot percentage, het is dus waarschijnlijk dat een te hoog vastgesteld vetpercentage te wijten is aan toeval. Er moet dus geen klacht ingediend worden.
