De correlatie tussen X en Z is inderdaad het grootst. Je schrijft dan 'Wanneer we het effect van z weglaten, zien we dat de correlatie nog groter wordt. Z heeft dus wel degelijk een grote invloed in ons model.' Bij deze partiële correlatie laten we niet Z weg, maar wel Y.

Ik denk dat het belangrijker is te kijken naar de eerste berekeningen r(xy) en r(xy.z). Bij deze berekening zien we de invloed van X op Y en de invloed van X op Y met Z eruit gezuiverd. Het verschil tussen de twee correlaties is er wel maar is niet opmerkelijk groot.
