goed besluit, je kon hier ook nog verwijzen naar de vorige grafiek van excess of heads.In de grafiek met excess of head doet er zich duidelijk een langzaam dalende trend voor.
Bij deze grafiek kan je aflezen dat de koers altijd eventjes op het zelfde niveau blijft en dan terug weer stijgt of zakt en dan weer op het zelfde niveau. Dus hieraan kan je zien dat je een voorspelling kan maken, dus als je een moment x hebt dan zal waarschijnlijk X t+1 ongeveer het zelfde niveau hebben als X. Dus men kan voorspellen op basis van het verleden. Dit kan je ook afleiden uit de formule van de random-walk: Yt=Yt-1 + Et , dus als Yt-1 hoog is, dan zal Yt ook hoog zijn.
Bij de ACF grafiek kan men dus besluiten dat er een positiefe autocorrelatie aanwezig is in de tijdreeks, men kan voorspellen op basis van het verleden.

De student geeft een correcte interpretatie. De stippellijn op de autocorrelatiegrafiek stel het betrouwbaarheidsinterval van 95% voor. Je kan duidelijk zien dat alle autocorrelaties buiten deze lijn vallen, ze zijn dus significant verschillend van nul. Het is dus geen toeval. Het langzaam dalend patroon is typisch voor een stochastische trend op lange termijn.
