Je hebt de werking van de logaritme transformatie correct uitgelegd. Deze transformatie kan worden toegepast om de seizoenaliteit eruit te halen. Ze mag echter nooit gebruikt worden bij negatieve getallen, wat in deze opdracht geen probleem gaf. Want er waren geen negatieve getallen gegeven.
Ik denk niet dat ‘logaritmeren’ een bestaand werkwoord is, het is misschien beter om te spreken over het ‘toepassen van een logaritme transformatie’.

Min of meer correct. Door te logaritmeren, worden, zoals gezegd, kleine schommelingen uit elkaar gerokken en grote schommelingen in elkaar geduwd, waardoor de outliers verkleinen. Interessant is dat investeringen typisch een grote spreiding hebben. Ze zijn typisch geclusterd, dit wil zeggen dat er jaren zijn met veel investeringen, en jaren met weinig investeringen. Ook moet eraan toegevoegd worden dat de seizoenaliteit weggewerkt wordt en dat de spreiding dichter bij 1 komt te liggen.
