Evaluatie task 2:

Ik ben het eens met de conclusie van de student. De student zegt wel dat de gegevens die gebruikt worden voor deze analyse starten vanaf maart 2003. Dit zou wel maart 2001 moeten zijn, aangezien dit in de vraag zo voorkomt. De student zegt duidelijk dat je de notched boxplots ook moet vergelijken met een referentiejaar (100) en dit is inderdaad juist. We zien inderdaad dat de investeringen de grootste achteruitgang kennen ten opzichte van het basisjaar (100), waardoor we dus kunnen stellen dat de hypothese klopt, zoals in de conclusie vermeld werd. Er wordt ook gezegd dat de investeringen een significante daling kennen, aangzien er geen overlapping van inkepingen zijn. Daar ben ik het ook helemaal mee eens. Aanvullend zou ik bij de conclusie schrijven dat er wel rekening moet gehouden worden met outliers bij de investeringen. Zij kunnen een vervormd resultaat weergeven. Ook zou er vermeld kunnen worden dat de spreiding van de notched boxplots hier niet van belang is.

De student gebruikt hier het juiste grafiektype en geeft ook een correcte conclusie. Wat er hier ontbreekt is dat men niet verwijst naar de boxplot statistics om een duidelijk getal te geven aan de mediaan tegenover het basisjaar. Dit geeft alleen een extra bevestiging van de hypothese.

Het is met meer dan 95% zekerheid te zeggen dat de daling niet om toeval gaat.

Student heeft dit perfect verwoord. Investeringen hebben een dalend verloop tegenover het basisjaar. En een grotere spreiding dus minder nauwkeurig. De inkepingen of betrouwheidsintervallen overlappen elkaar niet dus is er geen sprake van toeval.
